However, it was not cocaine but 6-kg marijuana, which cops subsequently recovered from his possession, that led to his arrest.
Caught red-handed
Mohammed Pasha, a native Warangal in Andhra Pradesh, was in search of potential clients to whom he could sell off the jaggery powder as cocaine for a whopping Rs 1 crore. However, someone tipped off of the Kumarswamy Layout police, who laid a trap at Konanakunte Cross and nabbed him red-handed.
Pasha, who has studied till Class XII, worked in a Warangal hotel, who took to selling marijuana procured from a village in Warangal.
Pasha later decided to dupe people by passing off white jaggery powder as cocaine. To gain confidence of his customers, Pasha kept marijuana with the jaggery powder and pretended to be selling marijuana atu00a0 a wholesale rate. Speaking to MiD DAY, Inspector Babu Narona of the Kumarswamy Layout police said, "Pasha is new to this business. He wanted to cheat people by selling jaggery as cocaine. We recovered 6 kg marijuana, valued at Rs 1.20 lakh from his possession."
