Remembering gina: Celebrating her life, memories and dreams |
'Listen to good music; eat good food and dance... under the stars," was her dream and in her lifetime, Gina Braganza lived every moment of it. In fact, Opus, her brainchild was born with the aim to help young musicians to find their feet.
It is a month since she left us and if you miss the energy the young lass had around her, head to Opus in the Creek tonight for the tribute concert featuring young musicians of the likes of Karan Joseph, Megha Girish, Mark Swaroop, Venkat Subramaniyam and Judy Das, all whom Gina helped to define their paths.
The show will also include performances by seasoned artists like Gerard Machado, Stanley Pinto, Vinoo Mathew, Silu Jamal, Floyd Fernandes, Agnee and many more.
The event will also announce the birth of the Gina Forever Foundation, a project to support aging musicians in India.
"We've been touched by the lives and stories of musicians, who, for various reasons, have been financially hit and Gina often spoke about wanting to support them. It is only fitting that we honour Gina's memory by giving back to a cause that was so close to her heart," says Carlton Braganza, Gina's husband.
The Gina Forever concert will also launch an inspiration/gospel music label and a commemorative CD, with contributions of singers from all over India.
Carlton will also introduce, OMG!'Opus Memorobilia and Goodies', a brand, which both Gina and he had planned to launch.
