A Class 5 student of a private school committed suicide after being allegedly rebuked by the school authorities for not paying his fees, police said.
Sugreev Kumar, 12, a student of Sanjay Gandhi Public School (SGPS), was found hanging in the basement of a commercial establishment, a few metres away from his house in the Hayat Nagar locality.
Kumar's family members alleged that he was quite upset after he was scolded by his school officials for not depositing the fees on time.
According to police, in presence of other students, a teacher Friday wrote a remark in Kumar's school diary that made him feel embarrassed.
