Home minister won't go into whether two held may have played role in bakery blast, says it will hamper probe

Did the two terror suspects nabbed in Mumbai yesterday have any connection with the German Bakery blast?
Home Minister R R Patil, who was in the city to inaugurate India's first open prison for women, refused to give any answers.

"It will not be right for me to share information at this stage, as it could hamper investigations," Patil said, while asking investigating agencies to crack the case at the earliest.

Sixteen people were killed and over 70 were injured in the blast that took place on February 13.

Refusing to divulge the name of the outfit with which the arrested duo had links, Patil said: "I am sure that even if the perpetrators of the crime have taken all precaution not to leave behind any trace, the Maharashtra Police will arrest them."

Patil recalled how it had taken a long time to nab the accused after bomb blasts took place in Ahmedabad and Surat in Gujarat, and in Uttar Pradesh.

"The police are working day and night to solve the case," he said.
