Lakme India and Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) split after FDCI insisted on thrice the fee for marketing. The Delhi-Mumbai divide grew deeper. Lakme's six-year contract ended with FDCI and was not renewed.
What he said: "IMG and Lakme's decision is disappointing. They are doing it out of spite. I don't see too many designers participating in the event." Rohit Bal
Status now: After the split, there are Lakme India Fashion Week in Mumbai and Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week in Delhi. Sumeet Nair's Fashion Foundation of India and FDCI are now planning on just one Delhi Fashion Week.
