A 19-year-old student was allegedly kidnapped from a Pune local train by a gang of four persons who also took his wristwatch, and released him only after his father gave them Rs 3,000. The incident took place late on Saturday near Akurdi. A case has been registered with the Government Railway Police at Pimpri Railway station against four youth under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code. The complaint was registered by Shiv Manoj Mishra, 19, from Akurdi.
The accused forced the teen's father to pay them Rs 3,000 in exchange for his release

Shiv is a graduate and aspiring chartered accountant. He said, "For my CA classes I have to travel every day from Akurdi to Kasarwadi. On Saturday night I was heading back home from class when a gang of four youth came towards me and claimed that I had molested their sister. I pleaded for help but no one helped thinking that I might be involved in a molesting case."

He added, "The four pulled me out of the train and thrashed me. Later they took my wrist watch and demanded money when I refused to give my mobile handset. I had only Rs 50 in my pocket. They took my cell phone and demanded Rs 3,000 from my father saying after that I would be released. They told him to keep the money in a box at Pimpri railway junction and later released me." According to GRP, "We are probing the case and soon we shall arrest this gang."
