The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, today visited the Infosys headquarters in Bangalore. The President was accompanied by Shri Rameshwar Thakur, His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka. The dignitaries were received at the Infosys campus by Mr. Narayana Murthy, Chairman of the Board and other senior officials from Infosys.
Welcoming the president and dignitaries to the Infosys campus, Mr. Murthy said, "It gives us great pleasure to welcome Her Excellency, the President of India, and other senior dignitaries to the Infosys campus. As the first woman President of India and as a person involved in public life since the 1960s, she is a great inspiration for women in India, who are partners in the extraordinary progress the country is making."
During her visit to the Infosys campus in Electronics City, the president viewed a corporate video on the Infosys story and interacted with the Infosys senior management. She was given a tour of the Infosys premises. The president then attended a tree plantation ceremony at the Infosys campus as a part of the green initiative at the company.
Speaking on her visit to the Infosys campus, Her Excellency, the President of India, said, "Infosys has done a commendable job; working with vision and dedication. Infosys is a leader in its field. Its principle of ethics and social responsibility contributes to the growth of the country's economy and society. I wish the company the very best for its future endeavors."
