New Delhi: All parties have made it clear that the long-pending GST Bill should be "taken to a logical conclusion" in the ongoing Monsoon Session and the government is keen to run "extra mile" to ensure its early passage by Rajya Sabha, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said yesterday.

Kumar yet again exuded confidence that there has been "forward movement" in the last few days on the long-pending Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill, saying, "The government has also said very clearly that we will run extra mile and shall reach out to the opposition parties."

Conditional support
Meanwhile, the Congress said it will support the GST Bill only if the government accepts its proposals on it. Party leader Anand Sharma said Congress, being the author of the bill, was never against it but changes made by the NDA government in the draft changed the situation and the party now wants its concerns to be addressed.
