The Bombay High Court on Friday stayed till May 25 execution of a non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued against Pankaj Bhujbal in a money-laundering case.
Pankaj, son of former deputy Cheif Minister Chhagan Bhujbal was issued a non bailable warrant by a lower court on April 27 along with 33 others after taking cognisance of the charge-sheet filed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with Maharashtra Sadan scam and some other cases.
Two days ago, Pankaj had moved the Supreme Court which asked him to approach the High Court first.
The agency arrested Chhagan Bhujbal in the Maharashtra Sadan case -- about alleged corruption in awarding of contract for the state guesthouse in Delhi -- earlier this year. Chhagan Bhujbal is now in judicial custody at Arthur Road jail.
The charge-sheet names Chhagan Bhujbal, his nephew Sameer, Pankaj, D B Realty, Balwa group of companies, Neelkamal Realtors and Builders, Neelkamal Central Apartment LLP and Kakade Infrastructure.
