The Deccan-Gymkhana police have booked the president of Pune Outdoor Hoarding Association Balasaheb Ganjave for allegedly manhandling and restricting a PMC official, while his team had gone to remove a hoarding at Khandoojibaba Chowk on Thursday afternoon.

A complaint in this regard was registered by Raajdiep Dhusia, the deputy engineer with PMC, at the police station. In the complaint, Dhusia said, "I along with our team had come to remove the illegal structures and hoardings, erected at the Khandoojibaba Chowk. After getting rid of several small and big hoardings, we started stripping off one owned by Kohinoor Advertising, which is also owned by Ganjave. He came there with some men and told us that the structure is legal and a court had passed a stay order on its removal. They started manhandling us and obstructed our work."

"When I told them not to argue with us as there was a High Court order towards elimination of hoardings, they refused to desist. However, we continued doing our job and removed the hoarding. We then approached the police station and lodged a complaint under section 353 of IPC," the complaint said.Meanwhile, Ganjave has registered a non-cognisable offence against Dhusia, accusing him of thrashing him and causing physical huirt.u00a0

"We have taken the complaints from both parties in this regard. Ganjave was asked to submit the stay order. However, they produced one from 2011, which is not acceptable, and we told them that the police wants to see the extension order from this year," said officer Manohar Joshi of Deccan-Gynmkhana police station.u00a0
