More than three decades ago, rock bands like Nirvana and Applied For were breaking more ground in Delhi than the Metro construction did. Most of their members ended upu00a0 leaving their passion for music for their respective careers.

This fortnight, the bands along withu00a0 Unfinished Biz are tuning up the strings and getting back together for ReRock III, the sequel to the concerts that were a raging success in the last two years. For more info, read on:

Recalling the past
Amitanshu Das, one of the main forces behind ReRock, and a member of both White Fang and Unfinished Biz, says: "We played in the 80s when we had no money, no support, no equipment, no lessons and no teachers, so we got separated. The idea to get musicians together suddenly came to my mind three years back, so I started
contacting my friends."

In spite of geographical hurdles, time differences and creative disagreements, the band has used technology creatively, jamming over Skype and swapping music ideas over email. "We exchanged songs over Skype and are playing classics and a set of original songs ufffd all with a dynamic energy," Das adds.u00a0u00a0u00a0

The old school
Every year, ReRock reunites some of the influential rocks bands from the 70s, 80s and 90s, bringing together musicians who have defined the rock soundscape of our country. This year, ReRock 3 starts a new concert tradition called the the ReRock Remix Band, which is a fun jam that emerges from old friends and music rivals coming together in the ReRock rehearsal rooms and having a go at the classic songs they used to play.
This year's band features Indian Ocean's Rahul Ram and Amit Kilam and for the first time, former lead singer for Applied For and Nirvana, Atul Ahuja. The Remix allows ReRock to reunite with friends who don't have full band line-ups and to bring on India's new young rock
talent to jam with their pathfinders.
