On the second day of the 15th Lok Sabha's first session, MiD DAY feasted on SP supremo Mulayam Singh's comical car-nama in the Parliament premises

He came, we saw, he car-queered. When Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh decided to stand at the Parliament gates for a 20-minute photo op after the swearing-in session, something had to be fishy.

His car was gone, he'd forgotten its registration number, and the chauffeur just wouldn't show up.

The man waited minute after minute, posing patiently as attendees appeared and zipped by.

Witnesses included Janata Dal (Secular) supremo HD Deve Gowda, senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, Shahnawaz Hussain, Lucknow representative Lalji Tandon and Neeraj Shekhar with his wife, but no one quite seemed to care.

Of course, that was before Jaya Prada showed up and read his flushed, flustered face. The lady, dressed in rich Chandramukhi pink, looked every bit the abhineta more than neta, and acted readily to rescue Mr M.

She got busy on the phone, summoning the transport secretary, and even let go of her own vehicle to arrange for Singh's van.

Luckily, his MP nephew Dharmendra saved the scene by sorting out tau's digit dilemma over repeated number plate announcements. But that wasn't the end.

Shortly after Mulayam's car pulled up in the driveway to end the embarrassing ordeal, an overtly concerned Jaya took Dharmendra by the arm to solve what seemed to be the root cause of the problem an expired VIP car pass.

As the two headed to get it renewed, we couldn't help but think if it was to thank the Mulayam-hearted Yadav's decision of ousting Azam Khan in her favour when it came to contesting from Rampur.

Singh, on the other hand, must be thinkingu00c3u00a2u00c2u0080u00c2u00a6 "What for a pass, ma'am, you've surpassed all expectations!"
