Over a week after the body of a 10-year-old girl was found from a house in Narayan Peth, the Vishrambagwada police said there's been no breakthrough in the case. She was found on the terrace of Mohiniraj Kulkarni's house, where her mother worked as a nurse. A post-mortem had revealed the girl had also been raped.

The police are interrogating the girl's mother and Mohiniraj. Even though Mohiniraj is not a suspect, the girl's mother claimed he had exploited her and was putting pressure on her to keep her mum. Neighbours say no outsider could have entered the bungalow and dumped the girl on the terrace without being noticed, a fact stressed by Senior Inspector Mothichand Rathore.
