The Chinchwad police have booked a former state president of the National Students' Union of India and members of his family in a case of cruelty and assault on his wife


The Chinchwad police have booked a former state president of the National Students' Union of India and members of his family in a case of cruelty and assault on his wife. The case was registered on late in the evening on Wednesday.

Shubhangi Kamble (21) filed the complaint at the Chinchwad police station against husband Manoj, father-in-law Vishnu, mother-in-law Kusum and sister-in-law Ujjwala Londhe. No arrests have been made yet.

"Shubhangi and Manoj got married a year before and Shubhangi conceived in January. Manoj used to torture her and demand dowry from her. A few days ago Manoj assaulted Shubhangi, because of which she had to abort her foetus," said an officer from the Chinchwad police station. "Manoj also used to tell Shubhangi that he didn't want to continue their relationship as he was having an illicit affair with another girl."
