A financial leap of faith
A financial leap of faithRajul MittalNRIs abroad are preparing to beat recession too by upskilling. Amsterdam based engineer and a management graduate Rajul Mittal is one such person.
Rajul, an engineering graduate from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, is now a consultant in Amsterdam.
His bold decision to opt for consultancy and learning new courses related to finance paid off, said Mittal.
"After I had worked both in India and China in the areas of IT, manufacturing and sustainability, it was time
to broaden my perspective.
This made me decide to pursue my MBA from mainland Europe," he said.
After looking for a country most receptive to internationals, it was Nyenrode Business University where he joined at Kellogg School of Management, Chicago.
"I always wanted to work in the area of CSR and sustainability, but owing to the present crisis this could not materialise.
Then I looked at my strengths and opted for consultancy as a preferred choice of career. This worked well. Presently I am working as consultant in Amsterdam," he added.
He acquired skills in areas of finance strategy, which he said was needed in a troubled economy.
