A biker was killed and three others injured, after a 34-year-old home-maker from Kandivli lost control of her sedan on Friday morning, first hitting a motorbike and later colliding into two auto rickshaws coming from the opposite side.

Accused Sakshi Parekh crashed into the biker, identified as Dilip Soni (34), who was thrown off his bike and fell on the northbound stretch on New Link Road near Charkop. Her car then hit two auto rickshaws, injuring two passengers and driver of another auto rickshaw.
Dilip Kalu Soni, the complainant, sustained fractures to his right arm and leg and is now in hospital receiving treatment.
However, the police said that Parekh was not driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

According to police officials from Charkop police station, Parekh, a resident of Mahavir Nagar left home around 10 am. Dilip Soni, who was on a bike, was also moving in the same direction -- towards south Mumbai.
After being hit by the car, Soni got dragged for approximately 16-20 metres. In a state of panic, Parekh then pressed the accelerator instead of the break and her car jumped the divider landing on the other side hitting two auto rickshaws.
"The biker was flung off his bike and thrown on the northbound stretch. Parekh then crossed over to the northbound end and hit two auto rickshaws," said Sub-Inspector Gopal Bhosale, investigating officer of the case. Soni was declared dead after few hours of being admitted to Bhagwati Hospital.
Auto rickshaw driver, Sitaram Pawar (47) was carrying two passengers, Lavkush Yadav (22) and Izhar Ahmad Siddiqui (20) when the car hit the auto rickshaw. Soon, Parikh hit another auto rickshaw driver Dilip Kalu Soni (25), who is the complainant in the case.
Siddiqui has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while Yadav and Pawar were admitted to the general ward of Bhagwati Hospital. Yadav sustained deep head injuries while Siddiqui sustained multiple injuries, with fractures to his legs and backbone. Driver Pawar escaped with minor injuries and was later discharged from the hospital.
Mahesh Patil, deputy commissioner (zone XI), said, "The accused pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, due to which her car jumped from the divider on to the northbound stretch."
Deceased Dilip Soni lived in Charkop and is survived by his parents, brother and wife. Patil added, "Primary investigations revealed that the accused was not drunk while driving the car. However medical reports are being awaited."
"He (Dilip Soni, deceased) was on his way to an electronic shop at Charkop where he worked," said Rajkumar Soni, Dilip's elder brother.
An inconsolable Asha, Dilip's wife told MiD DAY that he left home at 10 am, and soon after she got a call from her brother-in-law informing her about the accident.
"We registered the case under sections 304(A), 279, 337, 338 of Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act," Bhosale said. "My nephew Izhar and his friend Yadav work in the same construction company at Kandivli (East) and live in the same locality. Both were on their way to work when the accident took place," said Samim Ahmad, a relative of injured Izhar Ahmad Siddiqui.
Complainant Dilip Soni said, "It happened so fast that before I could react, I was trapped under my auto. Locals admitted us to a nearby hospital." Soni, a resident of Vaishali Nagar in Dahisar (East) fractured his right arm and right leg.u00a0
