Sujata Thayil, a resident of Sewree transit camp, has registered an FIR against Anil Agrawal, chairperson of the real estate firm RNA Developers at the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai (RAK) Marg police station.

Thayil alleged that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials have disconnected the watersupply and electricity connection of her room on Agrawal's behest.

She alleged that Agrawal took the action after she and her husband learnt that he was violating rules and regulations while redeveloping Safalya co-operative housing society at Sewree, where the Thayils originally stayed. Since the BMC had authorised Agarwal to redevelop the building in 2005, he had shifted the 230 residents of Safalya in adjacent transit camps.

On February 25, when the Thayils were away, BMC officials disconnected both the connections. "We are surprised that BMC officials are acting on Agrawal's behest. A man who claimed to be from the municipality pasted a notice on our door," said Thayil. However, denying these allegations, Agrawal said, "Thayil has been fighting with me since 2003 and has filed a false FIR against me. The BMC officials have taken action against them. Why is she blaming me?"

When contacted, BD Garule, senior inspector, RAK Marg police station, said, "We are investigating the matter."u00a0
