A Mumbai-bound Air India flight carrying 180 passengers and six crew members was diverted today to Jaipur after a passenger suffered a cardiac arrest


New Delhi: A Mumbai-bound Air India flight carrying 180 passengers and six crew members was diverted today to Jaipur after a passenger suffered a cardiac arrest.

The flight which took off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport here at around 1830 hours landed at Jaipur at 1930 hours due to medical emergency, sources said.

The flight was crossing over the Jaipur skies when a 50-year-old passenger from Delhi suffered a cardiac arrest, they said.

When the cabin staff informed the pilot-in-command Shailendra Singh of the medical emergency, he immediately contacted ATC, seeking permission to land the flight in Jaipur, the sources said.

After getting the ATC nod, the flight landed in Jaipur, they said.

Air India and AAI staff at the airport did not lose any time in rushing the passenger to hospital after the aircraft landed at Jaipur, the sources added.
