Hours after an attack on a train, militants fired at a goods train in central Assam's North Cachhar Hills district on Saturday morning, leaving a railway protection force (RPF) personnel injured.


Hours after an attack on a train, militants fired at a goods train in central Assam's North Cachhar Hills district on Saturday morning, leaving a railway protection force (RPF) personnel injured.

Official sources said Dima Halan Daogah (J) insurgents fired at the train near Warengdisa as it was proceeding towards Dijaonra from Lamdingat at 7.50 am. All trains on both sides of the track have been halted.

The same group had yesterday attacked a train from a hilltop at Badarpur-Lumding Barak Valley Express, killing a CRPF jawan and critically injured 14 passengers.
