On Tuesday, a medium-intensity earthquake measuring 5.9 hit Nepal as tremors were reported from several parts of Delhi and its surrounding areas. The tremors were first reported in the evening at around 7 pm from the Delhi-NCR region.
Interestingly, alert of tremors also emerged from Lucknow, the state capital of neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. Tremors of the quake were also felt across several parts of north India.

The epicentre of the quake is in Nepal and it was recorded at 7.01 pm, an official of the National Centre for Seismology said, reports news agency ANI.
There were no immediate reports of loss of life or property According to Twitterati, tremors were felt across the northern plains, including parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
