Is the biggest winner among the Indian nominees at the prestigious INMA 2009 awards in MiamiIndia's leading tabloid MiD DAY won three awards at the INMA (International Newsmedia Marketing Association) Awards 2009 held on Friday in Miami, USA, making it the highest award winner from India.
MiD DAY bagged the prestigious Gold INMA for its Online Anniversary Celebrations Contest in the Online Advertising Sales and Retention Category; the Silver INMA in the same category for its Meet n Greet with Jethro Tull & Anoushka Shankar Online Contest; and the Bronze INMA for its Axe Effect Innovation in the New Marketing Services Category.
Ninety marketing campaigns from newspapers in 43 countries had been selected as finalists. From these, 28 first-place award recipients across three circulation groups in 10 categories were publicly announced on Friday at the INMA World Congress during the gala dinner.

Second and third place recipients were presented with a certificate. Finalists in the print categories will be featured in the 2009 edition of Best In Marketing, a digital publication chronicling the honourees of the INMA Awards.
"This has been a challenging year for newspapers worldwide, and to see the high quality of marketing work is heartening for our industry's aim to grow audience, advertising, and brand," said Earl J Wilkinson, executive director and CEO of INMA. "Breakthrough campaigns like we see with our top winners is the exclamation point on this high level of quality."
The 24 judges for the 2009 competition came from all over the world, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Japan, Norway, Thailand and the United States.
