A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped on several occasions after the accused took advantage of her inability to conceive and offered to help. The accused identified as Nadeem Salim Shaikh (30) posed as a doctor and showed concern towards her problems. He would give the woman drugs that made her semi-conscious and rape her on several occasions since February 2012 to January 2013. Shaikh also allegedly documented his acts through videos, which he wanted to use to blackmail the victim.
The complaint was filed at Bhandup police station on Tuesday evening. An officer from Bhandup police station said, "The victim and the accused knew each other. However, the accused initially introduced himself as a doctor whereas he is the compounder. The incident took place in a dispensary and he gave her medicines to make her semi-conscious before raping her. He even made a video of his acts."
He further added, "We have not booked him under IT acts as we are yet to receive the video that he made. The victim was later threatened and harassed by the accused who threatened to show the video to her husband if she refused to have sex with him."
The accused has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and has been remanded in police custody till May 28.u00a0
