Machilipatnam (AP): A 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Gudiwada town of Krishna district, reportedly over the demand for according special category status to Andhra Pradesh, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred late last night when Siripurapu Udaya Bhanu took the extreme step by hanging himself to a ceiling fan in his house at Srirampuram colony, YUB Ankineedu Prasad, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gudiwada said.
A suicide note was recovered in which Bhanu has written 'Save AP' and also alleged that some political parties are creating obstacles for special status, the official said.
A case has been registered in this connection and investigations are underway, police said.
On Thursday, a 55-year-old physically-challenged man allegedly committed suicide in Nellore district of the state reportedly over the demand for according special category status to the state.
