You can keep off your financial data from your best buddies but it's impossible if it is your bank executive.
Anshul Gupta, director of a south Australian firm, made hefty transactions from his personal account in December-January oblivious of the fact that Sachin Bhardwaj, an executive with the loans section of the Citibank, was keeping a strict watch over him.

Gupta's riches proved a bane for his children, as Sachin plotted to kidnap them after losing his job and suffering financial losses.

It was just starting of just another hectic day for Gupta's wife Vandana on Tuesday. It was 7:45 and she was on her way to drop her kids Tanshi, 8 and Varun, 6 to Lawrence Public School in Sector 29 from her residence at the posh Ridgewood Apartments in Sushant Lok, Gurgaon.

Just 500 meters away from the school, three cars - a Hyundai Santro, Maruti Swift and Chevrolet Optra - intercepted Vandana's Ambassador. Four people came out from the cars and even before she could react the men took both the children away.

The kidnappers drove the kids to Bhondsi and sometime later called Gupta demanding Rs one crore as ransom. Sachin's voice was not totally strange to Gupta. The MBA executive, who suffered huge losses in a business venture, had called Gupta last year threatening to kill him in an effort to extort money from the businessman.
However, when the calls stopped Gupta did not tell anybody about it.

But, this time it was serious. The director of Power Core Ltd informed the police who swung into action immediately. In one of the most efficient and well-performed operations, the Gurgaon police nabbed Sachin and his four associates from Bhondsi and reunited the children with their parents.

For all his professional expertise, 29-year-old Sachin was not that a great planner. Vandana had noted the number of one of the cars used in the crime. It took police few hours to locate the car, which was registered in the name of Sachin.

Gurgaon Police commissioner SS Deswal said, "Police raided Sachin's house and traced the mobile number from which the ransom call was made. The number was put on surveillance."
The accused will be produced before the court today.
