Woman says lawyer kept her locked all night
The Pimpri police arrested a lawyer for allegedly raping his client. The aggrieved client lodged a complaint against her lawyer Sajid Sallauddin Sayyad (32), a resident of Pimprigaon, for allegedly abusing her sexually. He was arrested on Thursday and produced in the sessions court. He has been sent to magisterial custody.
The woman had approached the lawyer seeking his services for her husband's release from prison on parole.
Police Sub-Inspector S D Kathe of the Pimpri police station said, "The victim's husband is serving a life imprisonment in connection with a murder case in 2006.u00a0 The 26-year-old woman approached Sajid seeking legal aid to get her husband released on parole. As they both went to Yerawada jail office at council hall, the officials informed her that her plea was rejected.

Meanwhile, Sayyad offered her a lift till his office but actually took her to a lodge near Khadakwasla dam and allegedly raped her there. The advocate continued to harass her over the phone even after that."
After this incident, the victim's husband got released on parole.
On November 15, the suspect had come to meet the woman at her home. When she refused to meet him, he waited till her husband excused himself to use the washroom. Taking a chance, he allegedly called her out and forcibly dragged her to his place in Pimpri and raped her.
The victim said Sayyad also kept her locked in the room for the night, releasing her in the morning and calling her husband. On the phone Sayyad allegedly told him that he would take care of his wife in his absence.
Aggrieved by his conduct, the couple rushed to Pimpri police station and lodged a complaint against Sayyad for allegedly raping her.
