Brew Brothers Cafe at Kondhwa proves that a cafe can also change with the times and offer much more than just snacks and warm beverages. Started by Dr Akshay Shah and Sagar Shah in September, it offers a mix of newspapers, magazines and books to read as well as games such as Foosball to play and unwind. But their USP lies in their customised services where if you happen to like their furniture, they can have an identical chair, table or rack made for you.

Ambience: The red and mustard walls offset the coffee-coloured furniture. There are games and books lying around and the Foosball table, popularised by the American serial Friends, lies at one corner and is flocked by youngsters. In case you fancy something more intellectual, there is chess, Scrabble and Pictionary as well. The books corner includes works like Eric Segal's Love Story, Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children and Winning by Jack Welch. You can opt to sit outdoors as well.
We tried: While flipping through the pages of Vogue, Elle and Economic Times, we ordered a Barbeque Chicken Panini (Rs 55), which was made of tender chicken pieces and lettuce in yummy barbeque sauce. The Mushroom Onion Chilli Puff (Rs 55) had a filling made of mushroom, onions and Simla Mirch (green peppers) and was crisp.
The Chicken Puff (Rs 30) was also very good. We loved the Bluberry Muffin (Rs 50) tasted heavenly. We rounded it off with a Brownie Frappe (Rs 70), which had a strong coffee flavour to it that we liked and the Chocolate Milk Shake (Rs 50) which had tiny pieces of chocolate in it.
Service: The service was quick and Akash and Sagar are around to give helpful suggestions.
