Kharge resigns as leader of the opposition

Kharge, who is also the Congress candidate from Gulbarga Lok Sabha reserved constituency, sent his resignation to the high command today morning. However, the high command has not accepted his resignation yet.
Congress leader and former deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah is expected to be the next leader of Opposition.

He is said to be nursing a grudge that the party has not given him a post befitting his stature. Also, by nominatingu00a0Kharge as the party candidate from Gulbarga, the party wants to ensure that the support base of the party among the Scheduled Castes is not disturbed.
