Mumbai terrorist attack handler and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative Abu Jundal's mother has finally identified him as her son Zabiuddin Ansari. Rehana, who was in Delhi on Monday, had sought permission for meeting her son. Besides, she has also hired a lawyer to represent Jundal in court.
Advocate MS Khan, who'll now represent Jundal, told MiD DAY, "She asked him several questions about himself, family members and relatives to ascertain that he indeed was her son. Rehana also asked him about the place where they lived in Beed."
Rehana and Khan had reached the Special Cell office on Lodhi Road in the Capital around 7 pm. Then they were connected to Jundal over telephone. Rehana spoke to Jundal for more than 15 minutes, and when she was sure that the person she was speaking to was her indeed son, she got emotional and disconnected the call, Khan said.
Khan said the charges levelled against Jundal should be investigated thoroughly, as her mother believes that her son cannot indulge in any terrorist activity. Khan has represented several terror suspects across the country. He has also represented one accused in Aurangabad arms haul case in Supreme Court.
