Narender told cops that he stole Verma's driving licence, took his photograph from a social networking website and submitted them to procure SIM cards.

Later, he gathered phone numbers of several MPs and sent them SMSes intending to land Verma in trouble.
The jilted lover had bought a SIM card from Jasvinder Singh, a mobile phone shop owner in Gaffar market.

"When we questioned Singh, he told us how the buyer looked. He said that a man in his 20s, around
5 feet 7 inch tall had bought the card.
Accordingly, we made a sketch and with the help of Electronic Surveillance, were successful in locating Narender," a police officer said.
The cop added that Narender had not made any calls except for one on April 13 to Rashtrapati Bhawan and another to the Income Tax Office.
