Jammu: A major operation has been launched to trace the army Captain who had gone missing while travelling by train from Katihar to New Delhi. Captain Shikar Deep (25) went missing in Katihar-Delhi sector on intervening night of February 6 and 7, a senior Army officer said.
"All police force, Army and Railway Police has launched a massive operation to trace him but still there is no whereabouts of him," he said. Shikar Deep, son of Army officer Lt Col Anant Kumar, of Mahenderpur in Purnia district, was wearing a black/brown blazer, off-white t-shirt, blue jeans and green jungle shoes.
He is from 8 Sikh Light Infantry, Regiment of Nowshera, 80 Infantry Brigade of 25 Infantry Division. The officer said he was scheduled to be received by his friend in New Delhi on February 7 but he did not arrive there. The friend called Shikar Deep's father, who informed the unit, he said, adding a unit from his battalion has been sent to the area to help in the search, he said.
