Inflation remained unchanged at 0.61 per cent for the week ended May 16 compared to the previous week even as prices of some food items like tea, pulses and cereals became expensive.
Wholesale price-based inflation stood at 8.66 per cent during the corresponding week of the previous year. During the week, aviation turbine fuel and furnace oil turned more expensive by 2 per cent.
Among manufactured products, prices unrefined oil shot up by 21 per cent, malted food by 7 per cent and imported edible oil by 3 per cent.
Inflation for the week ended March 21 was revised upwards to 0.84 per cent from 0.31 per cent as estimated provisionally.
