Streetlights in Bandra-Kurla Complex, the area where Modi's rally was held, saw several posters guiding people to the spot. According to the new policy, no political posters congratulating ministers or wishing them for birthdays would be allowed. Additionally, only posters measuring 10x10 feet are allowed at a rally.
However, the BJP, who is part of the coalition ruling the civic body, thrashed their own rule. BJP spokesperson Niranjan Shetty said, "We had asked our party workers to take the permissions from the ward offices where they were putting up the posters. If they haven't, we would check into it."
Mohan Adtani, BMC's additional municipal commissioner, said, "I had instructed everyone not to give permission for any banners. If banners have been put up, action will be initiated against those responsible and the posters will be removed." u00a0
