Who would think that in a nondescript, ramshackle little room in one of Tardeo's narrow lanes, lies a gadget lover's wet dream? But that's JS Equipments for you; an unlikely treasure trove of accessories, wires, covers and colourful equipment that's cool enough to make the technologically-challenged swoon.

A brainchild of entrepreneur Jyotin Shah, JS is the sole Indian importer of a plethora of Apple-affiliated accessories and multi-purpose gadgets from around the world. "In 1994, we were into gaming products.

Six years later, we shifted focus to laptop accessories," says Shah. But it was in 2006 that he took the big leap, deciding to invest in the burgeoning might of Apple. "Something told me Macs and Apple products would take off big in India," he smiles.

Today, new products arrive every week, and fly off the shelvesu00a0-- from the super-funky iSkins and Hard Candy cases (covers for the iPhone, Blackberry and MacBook in delicious pop colours and textures) to Urban Tool bags and holsters that'll make you want to go for a daily jog just so you can flaunt the hip holster that wraps your iPod, money and keys around your shoulder in the happiest colours possible.

And it's not all looks. The utility range includes solar-powered battery chargers, mini-speakers that you can carry in your pocket, and natty cases to keep earphones tangle-free.

Shah visits exhibitions around the year and trusts his gut to pick companies he wants to tie-up with. You'd think someone with an eye for wired treasure must be a gadget freak himself, but Shah laughs off the suggestion.

"I'm aware of all that's new, but I don't use it. I believe in just selling."

At: Tardeo. JS also retails at Apple and Croma stores, Rhythm House, Heera Panna and Premsons at Breach Candy.
