Finally, desi art addicts have an event that they can compare to international dos. Unlike the first edition, this year the India Art Summit has sourced creations of several international galleries, making it swankier and global.
Here's a preview of the three-day affair.

Global fervour

The summit will showcase works from 17 galleries from around the world, including some of the most prominent international galleries from Europe, Asia, United States, China, Latvia, The Netherlands, Germany and United Kingdom. When here, do visit the Dubai-based 1x1 Art Gallery that is showcasing the works of Chittrovanu Mazumdar made of lights on steel panel, speakers and soundtrack. There will be speakers' forum, which will serve as a platform for discussion on the participation of Asia in the evolution of art. Other highlights of the event are a 600- square metre open air sculpture par, special installations under the 'Purple Wall Project', video lounge and curated walks that would develop understanding of art.

New is solid

What's even more interesting about the summit will be the participation of new artists, who work with issues they stand for. Gallery Latitude 28 will be showcasing paintings by Bhupen Khakhar, a self-confessed homosexual who has unleashed his mirthful take on sexuality. Another highlight is the video works by three renowned Vietnamese video artists u00e2u0080u0094 Thi Trinh Nguyen, Tuan Andrew Nguyen and Phu Nam Thuc Ha.
