Come backside," was about the only advice the Juno employee seemed able to offer us despite all our attempts at seeking coherent directions to the place. Hence, needless to say, locating the building was a bit of a challenge. The good news however, is that Juno's was obviously designed to function primarily as a pizza-delivery service. That we were invited to dig into our pizza at the venue itself was an added perk, really.
Usually, this privilege is reserved for guests of the proprietor, we were informed, but the management of Juno's is a friendly and obliging bunch, so if, during your busy work day, you should ever feel like dining in the quiet comfort of someone else's home, this is a great option to exercise.
A leaflet advertising the pizza delivery service reads, "In 1974, our grandma started India's first pizza delivery service," and goes on to explain that "Juno" was the name of a beloved grandson. Proprietors of the place were unavailable at the numbers the staff provided us with, and therefore that tale must rest, sadly.
No questions were asked as we walked into the kitchen here and watched as an employee worked on our "Full Smash" pizza (priced at Rs 300, this comes with all the nine vegetarian toppings Juno offers). The kitchen was simple and could do with a coat of paint, but it was at least clean. And the employee wasn't using gloves, but then neither does our cook at home --u00a0a re-endorsement of the "ghar ka khana" concept, perhaps?
In addition to the meal, the efficiency of a delivery service must, naturally, also be judged by the time they taken to deliver the goods and here, Juno impressed. We placed our order at 12.30 and it reached our home by 12.55. Delivery, however, is limited to areas in close proximity and of course, there's always a chance that service will decline as their customer base grows. Still, at Rs 150 for a scrumptious, though ever-so-lightly spicy, 11-inch Margherita, this is undoubtedly a super-deal for birthday parties or those IPL get-togethers.
