Nagapattinam (TN): About 13.5 kg of ganja valued at around Rs two lakh has been seized from a man's house at Vedaranyam in the district, police said.
Acting on a tip off, police raided his house, conducted a search operation and seized the ganja, they said. Police said officials of Narcotics Intelligence CID wing and Q-Branch will also conduct enquiries to ascertain if the narcotic drug was meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka from Vedaranyam.
This is the second such seizure in the area in recent months. On June 29, 23-kg of ganja was seized from a man in nearby Mottandithoppu village.
The man had told police he planned to smuggle it to Sri Lanka.
