"The prescriptions and consent letter of the patients on whom abortions were carried out bears the name of Dr Lahane and could be the mastermind of the entire racket involving Sanap. We are investigating the case and things will be clear soon," said ASP Shrikant Dhivare.

It was discovered that though Dr Sanap's hospital was sealed after his arrest, yesterday afternoon, a couple of persons entered the hospital via backdoor and allegedly made away with medical records of all the patients.
The incident came into light when a local saw the duo exiting the back door with documents in their possession. The local clicked their pictures and immediately informed the police about the happenings.u00a0State Health Minister Suresh Shetty will visit the Beed Civil Hospital today to look into the matter personally.
Similar case
Dr Madhav Sanap, whose license was cancelled and his hospital was sealed after he was caught red-handed during a sting operation conducted in 2005 by Varsha Deshpande, Satara-based social activist, has been absconding since Saturday.
