A rally in the Capital to create awareness on environment, raises a stink
Theu00a0 national capital is one of the most polluted cities in the world. So any campaigns that raise awareness on the issue are welcome. On Sunday, the Green Delhi Cycle Rally-2010 was organised by the Al Qalam Foundation. The rally passed through some of the most important and sensitive locations in the Capital including Rajghat and Veer Bhumi.

A number of women, children and senior citizens took part with much enthusiasm.
But as the pictures captured by MiD DAY photographers show, the rally failed to get the message across. The heaps of garbage strewn around the area didn't present a pretty picture. It seems that the dreams of a green and clean Delhi will remain unfulfilled for some more time.
CM'S APPEAL |
With the national capital all set to host the 2010 Commonwealth Games, chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday appealed to Delhiites to come forward and help municipal bodies in keeping the city clean. |
