When hip hop meets African beats with a French twist, things can only get better. Catch French-Senegalese band BBC Sound System doing just that at their performance this evening
Four African musicians from Paris have travelled all the way to give Bangalore a flavour of Africa and its culture.

BBC Sound System, a band from Senegal is here to rock the city with Afro-French songs depicting racism, poverty, death and issues troubling human lives for centuries.

Brought to Bangalore by the Alliance Francaise de Bangalore, BBC Sound System has plans of broadcasting their own brand of multicultural music.
u00a0"We like to be the people's voice whether it is the rich or poor. We talk about the good and the bad things in Africa. Our songs face reality but with optimism," says Izm, the rapper of BBC Sound System.
u00a0Formed in 1994, BBC Sound System was born when Kadou, Mansour and Mao- three young men wanted to share African dreams infused with global music.

In 2004, Izm, the rapper joined the band. Written in English with a dash of French and African, their lyrics blend the past and present imparting all the songs a unique and indigenous feel.

So, if you want to do away with the midweek blues with some thought provoking rhythm, then this performance is a must for you.
The band comprises of Kadou, a reggae singer, Mao, the lead vocalist and Mansour and Izm, the rappers.
u00a0Blending reggae, hip-hop, soul and even salsa beats; the band provides a distinct and original sound.
However, the most striking feature of their music is the fusion of French, African and Jamaican culture, with an earthy feel.
The songs not only bring out the characteristics and the ideologies of the band but also highlight the traits of each member.

We were performing at anu00a0 engineering college in Mysore. It was a lovely concert.

None. When we perform we spread positive energy and till date there has been no such instances. It is always music, dance and loads of fun.
