Officials from the Mumbai Crime Branch (CB), investigating the murder of Navi Mumbai builder Sunil Kumar Lahoria, will seek permission to carry out a psychological test on former encounter specialist Emmanuel Samuel Amolik

The Crime Branch, who has custody of Amolik for two days, has been finding it difficult to obtain information from Amolik. Determined, officials from the CB are now going to ask the court today to carry out a psychology test. "The test might include a lie detection test, brain mapping test or a narco analysis," said a CB official.

Officials added that since his arrest, ex-cop Amolik has been trying to fool the Crime Branch. Initially, he told the authorities that following an accident he had with Loharia, they had an argument, which led to Loharia's death. However, on further investigations, officials learnt that no accident had occurred on the day and at the time that Amolik was telling the cops. "Amolik planned to tell the Crime Branch the accident story and would later prove in court that he was not present at the spot and get acquitted from the case," added a CB officer.

"We will carry all necessary tests required to get the truth out from the accused," said Himanshu Roy, joint commissioner of police, Crime. The Crime Branch also visited the residence of absconding accused Suresh Bijlani and architect Anurag Garg. "Both have fled and we are searching for them. Only after Bijlani is arrested, will the roles of people will be clear," said Roy.
