Creator of Old Monk, Kapil Mohan, dies at the age of 88

Kapil Mohan, the man behind iconic 'Old Monk' rum passed away at the age of 88 on Saturday, as per social media reports.

Kapil Mohan was the chairman of Mohan Meakin Ltd. the company that bottles ‘Old Monk', other liquors and non-alcoholic beverages. Mohan is said to have suffered a massive cardiac arrest at his residence in Ghaziabad.
Old Monk was launched in 1954 and quickly became the largest selling dark rum in the world. It was the biggest Indian Made Foreign Liquor brand.
