We had decided to spend
Rs 10 lakh on a grand reception, but instead we donated the money to Janaseva Foundation on September 7 in Punav and Dhruv's presence at an informal function organised by the foundation in Katraj," Prasad said.
Amazed by gesture
President of Janaseva Foundation Dr Vinod Shah said he was stunned by the Godbole family's gesture.
"We are all moved by their gesture and hosted a lunch in their honour at our educational centre in Katraj. Fortunately, the bride and the groom were present at the function where they inaugurated a special education cell that was named after the couple. They were blessed by our priest Abhishek Sagar," said Shah.
Also present at the event were Punav's 91-year-old grandfather Gajanan Godbole and veteran environmentalist and former union minister Mohan Dhariya, who blessed the couple.
Punav, who was born and brought up in the city, completed her flying course in Australia and now works with a private airline.u00a0
