Lonavla rural police, who raided a late-night booze binge at a private bungalow near Pavana Dam, Lonavla in the wee hours of Wednesday, are now searching for the owner of the accommodation who had rented it out for a day. Cops had arrested 47 people, including 12 suspected sex workers from Mumbai, during the exercise. Those held also include real estate agents, property brokers and some businessmen from the financial capital.
u00a0Apart from liquor, cops also recovered several empty and unopened packets of condoms from the premises. The raid was conducted following a tip-off that a number of âintoxicated revellers' were creating a ruckus and disturbing the peace in the area. u00a0While speaking to MiD DAY, Manoj Lohiya, superintendent of the police (Pune Rural), said that they are looking for one Goldie Chopra, a resident of Vashi in Navi Mumbai, who is the owner of the bungalow.
"He must have got approximately Rs 1 lakh from the deal," the cop said. Lohiya added that all the men held are real estate agents, brokers and traders from places like Navi Mumbai, Ghatkopar and Thane, while the suspected bar girls are from different places in Maharashtra, Jaipur and Kolkata. u00a0An event management group had organised the party, and allegedly brought over some sex workers, employed in bars in Mumbai, to entertain the invitees. The police seized around 20 bottles of imported liquor and beer and Rs 24,000 in cash from those apprehended. No narcotics like brown sugar, drugs etc were found in the bungalow.u00a0
