"Bade kept on taking shelter in dingy bylanes with a clear motive of hoodwinking me," said Lad.

"While running behind him, I called up Swargate police station, asked for additional staff and told them the spot."
He said that Bade got puzzled when he saw police officials blocking his way and turned back to escape but was caught by Lad.
Lad, who has served in the force for 28 years, has been promoted twice in his tenure.
Senior PI Rajkumar Gaikwad said, "Lad showed presence of mind that led to Chavan's arrest. I will recommend his name for an award."
