After failing to make monetary provision for the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) in the annual budget of the PMC, the ruling NCP has once again ignored public transport by not including the bus service in the list of topics to be taken up for discussion with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today.u00a0
Several senior leaders of the NCP from the city, including the Mayor and the chairman of the Standing Committee, will attend the meeting in Mumbai. Issues such as the ongoing water crisis, Swargate flyover and metro rail are included in the discussion list.
"More than 55 lakh citizens from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad depend on PMPML for public transport, but the NCP has not included PMPML in its list. Through a letter, we have suggested Ajit Pawar, who is also the Guardian Minister of Pune, to consider the issue," said Jugal Rathi, president, PMP Pravasi Manch.
An NCP source said: "All the other parties are isolating the NCP from discussions related to the city. So, the meeting is more about devising strategies to bring the party out of isolation."u00a0
