Chief minister Prithviarj Chavan to unveil traffic resource centre today

Right from solving vehicular congestion problems in an area, to imparting knowledge about traffic management to professionals, the newly-built ‘Sanskar Bhavan' in Pune police commissionerate premises will serve as a major resource centre for Punekars, traffic experts and police personnel.

"Chief minister Prithviarj Chavan will inaugurate the building today in the presence of cooperation minister Harshvardhan Patil, MLC Mohan Joshi and police commissioner Gulabrao Pol," said deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Vishwas Pandhare.

"This building is the only one of its kind in the entire state, where various troubleshooting sessions, training programmes and awareness campaigns will be conducted on a daily basis. Around Rs 35 lakh were made available to construct this fully-equipped centre that has computer and Internet facility," said Joshi.

DCP Pandhare added, "Traffic issues from different areas need customised solutions based on proper scientific traffic engineering models. We will be analysing such traffic problems at the centre, and come up with workable solutions."

That's not all. "Newly recruited police personnel, officers and other individuals will be given training about traffic regulation, functioning of traffic signals, and also stress management. Besides this, we have planned a library, with the help of which our police officers will get knowledge about Indian Road Congress norms and other concerned rules and regulations," he said.u00a0
