Raipur: A tribal woman was on Friday killed in a pressure bomb blast carried out by Naxals in a forest pocket of Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Sukma district.
The incident took place on a 'kuchha' track, which is often used by the security forces during their patrolling in the region, near Kottacheru village under Bhejji police station limits this morning, Sukma Superintendent of Police D Shrawan told PTI.
As per preliminary information, the woman identified as Muchaki Hidme (30) stepped over a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) on the kuchha triggering an explosion leaving her dead, he said.
The victim belonged to a nearby Gorkha village. Soon after getting information of the incident, security forces were rushed to the place and the body was brought to Konta, he added.
Yesterday, an eight-year-old girl was killed in a pressure bomb blast carried out by Naxals, in Muraliguda forests of Konta region in Sukma.
