MCD challans 1,300 for dengue breeding on premises; 42 more are infected
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has found a new way to combat the dengue threat. It has taken to challaning people who are not taking steps to curb mosquito breeding in their primises.
Over 1,300 people, including contractors of three Commonwealth Games projects, were challaned by the MCD after it detected mosquito breeding on their premises, even as 42 fresh cases of dengue were reported from the city on Tuesday. The total number of dengue cases has touched 627 with the reporting of the 42 new cases, an MCD official said.
According to the official, 1,335 people were challaned after mosquito breeding was detected on their premises during a drive since Monday.
