Concerned over lynching of a man in Dadri for allegedly consuming beef, the Centre on Thursday sought a detailed report from the Uttar Pradesh government over the incident and asked it to ensure that no such incident recurs
New Delhi: Concerned over lynching of a man in Dadri for allegedly consuming beef, the Centre on Thursday sought a detailed report from the Uttar Pradesh government over the incident and asked it to ensure that no such incident recurs.
In a communication, the Home Ministry told the state government that a report about lynching of the 50-year-old man should be sent to it as early as possible and the steps taken to find the guilty and punish them.
The Home Ministry has also sent an advisory to the Uttar Pradesh government asking it to ensure that no such incident takes place anywhere in the state in future.
Iqlakh was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish was critically injured by a 200-strong mob which barged into their house at Dadri in Greater Noida on Monday night following rumours that the family had consumed beef. Cow slaughter is banned in Uttar Pradesh.
As police intensified security, the distraught family of Iqlakh said they were planning to move out of this Uttar Pradesh village, apprehending more attacks on it.
