LUCKNOW: The body of a missing teenage girl, who had gone missing five days ago, was found murdered, allegedly after being raped, from a green patch in the high-security zone near the residence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday.
The 17-year-old girl had left for school on February 10 but did not return after which her family members filed the FIR at Jankipuram Police Station, police said.
The body was recovered on Monday from the Gautampalli area, a spot which is a stone's throw distance from the residence of the DGP and CM.
The body has been identified by the relatives of the deceased and sent for post-mortem, police said. According to police, the girl may have been sexually assaulted before being killed.
Police have detained two persons in connection with the case.
Taking cognisance of the incident, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has directed DGP Javeed Ahmad to personally monitor the case and constitute a special task force.
